At the end of a marionette building workshop, one of the puppets declared that he was the Black King of chess, in love with the White Queen who would be sacrificed by his clan, in order to defeat him. Out of this idea began a creative workshop where the tactics of sacrifice in chess were discussed, but then Death invited itself into the game… and it does like to play chess with the humans. And to surprise them.

The small show born out of this experience and developed around the ideas of Maryse Bonnefont and Ginette Facchin was performed as part of the “apéro spectacles” event in a theatre in Toulouse.
